Purchase of Rights means you can buy the original copyright to the image from the photographer or copyright holder for exclusive use of the photo. The copyright holder typically provides you with the original transparency or negative, or the original digital file from a digital camera.

With this option, you negotiate with the photographer through America the Beautiful Photos to obtain exclusive rights to the photograph. It is generally up to the photographer, or copyright holder, as to what price he or she will part with the copyrights. Prices generally start at $1,000, however, they can run to many times that based on the earning history or earning potential of the image.

To purchase the original copyright of the photo and take it off the market, find the image you are interested in, note the image number and contact me at custom@americathebeautifulphotos.com

Some of our Rights Managed images are currently licensed for up to 4 years, so purchasing of exclusive rights will need to honor the prior licensing rights until the expiration date. Our Rights Managed images have never been sold in our Royalty Free division.

Our Royalty-Free images, however, may have already been licensed with agreements that allow no time limit use, therefore we cannot guarantee that the image will never be used by another entity in the public market. We do have many images in the Royalty Free category that have never been licensed and would therefore afford the copyright purchaser more exclusive rights depending on the photographers history of licensing the image.
